10 Most Underrated Comic Books Of 2018

2. Sideways

Daredevil #599
DC Comics

One of the few new series to spin out of Scott Snyder's Dark Nights: Metal, Sideways basically answers the question: what if Peter Parker was created in 2018?

Yes, as observed by many in the comic book world, Sideways, at least personality-wise, is very similar to everyone's favourite, (originally) teenage hero, but in a very different context.

The hero's power consists of teleportation, in quite a similar way to Marvel's Blink, yet otherwise he fits the bill of the template outlined by Parker, with the book following the character while he's still in high school, before gaining his powers when his adopted-mum brings him to Gotham during the events of Metal.

So, if you enjoyed reading about the exploits of a younger Spider-Man, until Saladin Ahmed's Miles Morales series drops, this is a fantastic replacement and easily the best character to feature in DC's new line of heroes.
