10 Most Underrated Flash Villains

6. The Trickster

Trickster Flash
DC Comics

One of several legacy characters on this list, The Trickster has been a thorn in the Flash's side from his Golden Age days. One of his earliest foes, James Jesse and his son, Axel Walker, have used their intellect and gag-based weaponry to go toe-to-toe with the Crimson Comet.

Jesse was a former circus acrobat who turned to a life of crime in honor of his ''reverse namesake'', legendary outlaw Jesse James (flimsy reason but okay). He designed circus-themed weaponry to commit crimes such as thievery and conning people.

After an encounter with the demonic Neron, Jesse walks away from crime and uses his skill and gear for good. This decision puts him at odds with his fellow Rogues and it comes back to bite him following Bart Allen's death. The young hero's death forced Jesse and the Pied Piper to go on the run from both heroes and villains alike.

Unfortunately, Jesse was killed by Deadshot whilst trying to shield Piper from the mercenary's bullets. His son, Axel Walker (who had earlier taken on the mantle) carried on his father's legacy and was able to forge his own villainous path.
