10 Most Violent Comic Book Heroes Ever

8. Wolverine - Marvel

A truly legendary and recognisable figure in both the comic book and film worlds, Wolverine has, whether it's through his solo antics or during his time with the X-Men, carved out a reputation as being one of the fiercest and most brutal superheroes out there.

With his hulking biceps, animal-like instincts and powerful regenerative abilities, few comic book readers would be surprised to see Logan engaging in some pretty hefty fights from time to time. It is the sheer amount of violence behind some of the hero's greatest moments, however, that will have shocked most of them.

Having slain the likes of Hulk, Deadpool, Captain America and the entire X-Men team in bloody fashion during his various arcs, there's always a certain amount of tension and unease surrounding the grumpy Logan whenever he appears on the page.

It's unfair to say that grumpiness and brutal acts of violence are the only things Wolverine has going for him though. For starters, his old age has allowed him to travel the world and embrace dozens of different languages and cultures. On top of that, he's also a well-respected and established leader and father figure to the allies he aligns himself with.
