10 Must-Read Comic Book Christmas Specials

9. The Man Of Steel Saves Christmas - 'Superman€™s Christmas Adventure'

Superman€™s Christmas Adventure proves once and for all that subtlety must be an alien concept to Kryptonians. For starters the villains are called, and I kid you not, Doctor Grouch and Mister Meaney. Let that sink in for a moment. The plot revolves around them trying to ruin Christmas for reasons unknown: incapacitating the reindeer, angrily punching toys and even attempting to murder Lois Lane by tying her to a rocket.

Their Grinchy antics end up forcing Superman to fly Santa€™s sleigh around for him like a caped chauffeur, just imagine the global loss of life occurring while this jolly interlude played out. As if this wasn't enough, while all this is going on there€™s a subplot about a rich boy learning to share his wealth the poor. Honestly, if there were any more obvious Christmas plot beats, you may as well be listening to Shakin€™ Stevens on repeat.

As the Man of Steel€™s foray into becoming a delivery man draws to a close, it is Santa who defeats the hilariously named villain duo by giving them each a present thus changing their whole view on the holidays. So essentially kids, Superman€™s Christmas Adventure teaches that you can be as horrendous as you want: kidnap, commit arson and even throw in some attempted murder because Santa will still bring you presents regardless.
