7. Squirrel Girl's Festive Fury - 'GLX-Mas Special'
As this story revolves around a bunch of small-time heroes based in Milwaukee Wisconsin, youd be forgiven for not expecting much. Their first outing since the thrilling name change from the Great Lakes Avengers to The Great Lakes X-Men, the GLX-Mas Special contains six mini tales centring on a Christmas party taking place at their headquarters. The first story manages to take home the ribbon for holiday lunacy though, following Squirrel Girl as she goes on a shopping run for some eggnog.
Proving that superheroes are unable to walk down the street without inviting danger on their communities, she is immediately set upon by such high calibre Marvel villains as Modok and even Thanos who has apparently put universal domination on hold to stop a C-List superhero from having an enjoyable Christmas. Defying all logic and sense (even of the comic book variety) Squirrel Girl lays a beating on everyone who tries to stop her feeling festive, only stopping for a moment to marvel that she and her squirrel sidekick Tip-Toe were able to take out the real Thanos.
Just to rub salt into the Mad Titans wounds, this story is actually considered canon. While the other five tales feature typical festive shenanigans, none of them can top Squirrel Girl proving herself to be the most powerful character in the Marvel universe.
