10 Pairs Of Characters From Different Franchises With The Same Name

10. Beast Man (Masters Of The Universe & Flash Gordon)

Beast Man Believe it or not, the far more well-known Beast Man (of Masters of the Universe fame) was actually a reused idea from a character who came before him - Beastman from the 1980 Flash Gordon toyline. The similarities are obvious (while the differences obviously are as well), but it's definitely hard to believe that such a long-standing and well-liked character stemmed from something so obscure, short-lived and of lesser renown. The Masters of the Universe version is a very dumb henchman of Skeletor and has mostly been depicted as comic relief and not much of a threat to He-Man and his heroic band of warriors. He uses a whip (normally quite badly) and generally acts recklessly - usually charging at his opponents - all of which tends to fail. Very little is known about the Flash Gordon version, as he was merely a toy and the packaging for him had very little information on it. He was essentially a blue humanoid with animal-esq features, such as sharp teeth and fur.
