3. Boba Fett Survives
Ever since the bounty hunter was unceremoniously chucked into the Sarlaac Pit in Return of the Jedi, the fate of Boba Fett has been up for debate amongst Star Wars fans.
He first made his way out of the Sarlaac Pit in the 1984 comic book, Star Wars: Jawas of Doom. After being spat out by the beast, an unconscious Fett is found by Jawas, mistook for a droid, and put onto a Sandcrawler, with R2D2 also on board. Long story short, the bounty hunter tumbles back into the pit once R2 is rescued from the vehicle by Han Solo and Leia. Fett escapes again in 1995's A Barve Like That: The Tale of Boba Fett, tricking the beast into activating his jetpack and flying away.
The mercenary has since become a major player in the Mando-verse after his reintroduction in the second season of The Mandalorian, though the story of how he escaped the pit's clutches were not told until a year later in The Book of Boba Fett. In the show, Fett brute-forces his way out with his flamethrower, but passes out in the Dune Sea and is stripped of his armour by Jawas. Unlike the 1984 comic, Fett is instead a captive of the Tusken Raiders, before leaving to hunt the galaxy for his armour.
