When Garth Ennis stepped down from The Punisher for a brief time in 2002, it was left to artist Steve Dillon to step in and bridge the gap before a new writer was found. The resulting issue is a hard-hitting story with no speech whatsoever.

As he tries to locate a gang leader, Frank runs into a couple of teenagers buying cocaine from a street dealer. Normally, a street dealer is of little concern to The Punisher, but the vigilante let his bad mood get the better of him. Castle immediately lays waste to the dealer, before confiscating the drugs from the two kids.

They run away unharmed, having been taught a very violent lesson. Unfortunately for the two, Frank's carelessness would lead to the death of one of them regardless of protecting them against the dangers of drugs.

During the initial attack on the mobsters, one of them dropped a gun which was not removed from the scene.

The same two boys had been playing basketball nearby and found the weapon while investigating the commotion they had overheard. At the end of the issue, one of the boys is shot dead by police while holding the gun.
