We are first introduced to the Barracuda in Punisher #31 and in the following arc, the crazed killer makes sure he won't be forgotten quickly. During a particularly violent fight, The Punisher finds himself bested by the newcomer and ends up captive on a boat out in the ocean.

Initially, Frank has the upper hand and manages to take off Barracuda's fingers and choke him out with barbed wire. However, his foe quickly turns the tables with a swift headbutt and knocks Castle out with a piece of fencing.

When he wakes up, he is tied up on a small boat next to a low-level thug that Barracuda has brought to use as shark bait. His plan works, as once both captives been thrown overboard, they are quickly joined by a hungry Great White.

The thug is the first victim as the shark rips his legs off, but he somehow survives. Much to Franks dismay, he begs to be saved, offering money and drugs. Frank could have taken the higher ground.

The thug had done nothing to him and Castle is strong enough to have dragged the poor man to safety. Yet that's not really The Punisher's style, so instead of saving this guy, he throws him into the open mouth of a shark before escaping.
