It's not too often that The Punisher meddles in the business of small-time criminals. The vigilante more often than not will let a goon off with a beating, only to wipe out their boss later on. That being said, Frank Castle just loves killing people and sometimes the bar isn't set very high.

During Gareth Ennis's marathon run on the character, The Punisher was even more unhinged than normal. The opening to the Punisher's Marvel Knights era sees Castle interrupt the mugging of a lady in an alleyway. The woman has a knife to her throat until Frank grabs the mugger by his neck.

With one quick action, The Punisher snaps the criminal's neck and throws him into some nearby trash cans.

There have been many times where Frank has taken the life of a simple mugger, there is something different about this one. When thanked for saving the woman's life, he responds coldly and walks off.

Combine that with him comparing this incident to Christmas, you have to wonder if he's more interested in killing than actual justice.
