2. From First To Last

This trade collection consists of three one-shot issues by, yes, Garth Ennis - The Cell, Tyger Tyger and The End, each telling a story from a different point in the Punisher's career.

While Tyger Tyger is a relatively disposable tale of Frank's first hit, the other two are all-timers in the Punisher canon. The Cell has the Punisher caught and locked away in prison. Although, in true Rorschach style, one quickly comes to question who is locked away with whom - and why.

The End, meanwhile, sees an aged Frank Castle emerge from his bunker at the end of a nuclear apocalypse. He may be balding and crinkly, but the end of the world has dampened none of the Punisher's passion for punishment, and he sets about delivering bloody justice to those he deems responsible - even if they might happen to be some of the very last people left alive. From first to last, at least he's consistent.
