10 Raunchy Comic Book Scenes Nobody Wants To See On Film

Despite the over-arching image of comic books as endless tales of spandex clad do-gooders fighting off criminals, monsters and aliens, they also deal with real social issues like bullying, addiction, grief and - sometimes unfortunately - sexuality. As a result of the latter - particularly in recent years - relationships between men and women, and indeed between characters of the same sex, have been explored on every conceivable level in comics. A lot of the time, these relationships are satisfying and heart-warming for readers as with Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson, Clark Kent and Lois Lane, and Apollo and Midnighter, all of whom have had some truly memorable moments on-panel for all the right reasons. However - and just like in the real world - not every aspect of every relationship in comic books is beautiful. Raunchiness between comic book characters might be becoming more prominent, but that also means that increasingly awkward, weird, disturbing and downright wrong moments of "sexiness" are appearing on-panel. Movies have regularly depicted these moments of passion between superheroes and their love interests for years - who could forget that kiss between Spider-Man and Mary Jane, the chemistry between real-life lovers Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone, or the "Hallelujah" sex scene in Watchmen - and many more could potentially be depicted in years to come.
