Spider-Man is one of Marvel€™s most popular creations because his teenage alter ego resonated so well with the readers - he was a young adolescent who struggled with bullies at school. He was almost a facsimile of the readers, which gave some solace to the poor fans being beaten and bullied at school. Even though the they inspire films are now multi-million pound blockbusters, those who immerse themselves in comics still find themselves bruised and beaten - mentally or physically - simply because they enjoy reading about the modern myths. Bullies have always found comic readers to be easy targets and, sadly, this is still the case. It isn€™t easy being bullied, especially when it is for such an arbitrary and moronic reason, but comic books provide a cathartic release from this personal anguish by providing the reader with a form of escapism. Comic books are thus the solution and cause for one of the biggest challenges for many young people - there seems to be very little that can be done about this.
