10 Reasons You Should Be Reading Locke & Key

10. It's Done

Locke Key Volume 1 Welcome To Lovecraft Billboard 600x300 The series started shipping in 2008, and readers since then have had to wait with bated breath for the next issue and finally the captivating conclusion. Start reading now and you won't have to do any of that waiting. Joe Hill knows how to construct a story that gets your heart pumping and makes you want to know what happens next. In my own reading there was a lot of gasping, and a fair amount of time at night where I could not fall asleep because I kept thinking about what would happen next. Across pages, across individual issues, and through the different story arcs, the series commands your imagination and curiosity. Because of the way that the story teases and leaves us on cliffhangers and suspenseful moments, it's the kind of thing that you want to keep reading. This made it maddening, exhilarating, and sometimes frustrating if you had to wait for the next issue to ship (even if it was only for a month, because gosh this book hooks you like crack). Now there's no need to keep checking for shipping dates, no worries about delays and schedule changes. The ending has been written and you don't have to wait for its arrival. With the series collected in reader-friendly editions that you can pick up in most book stores, it's easy to jump in and collect the whole thing. A lot of the earlier story arcs are now available in beautiful hardbound editions. Or you can just get the whole series on digital.
