10 Reasons To Be Excited For DC's New Age Of Heroes

This project has a lot of big names attached, and promises to give us something visually wild and interesting.

Sideways has a number of big names attached to it. Being written by DC's Dan Didio himself, with Justin Jordan, and with art by Kenneth Rocafort, the second arc will apparently also add Grant Morrison to the writing team.

Understandable, as it seems this series will involve the Multiverse in many ways, and that's something Morrison has been deeply involved in structuring for DC.

The series follows Derek James, an adopted, Puerto Rican teenager who apparently fell through a rift into the Dark Multiverse dimension during the events of Metal, and emerged with superpowers. These powers allow him to create dimensional rifts in mid-air that he can leap through. Problem is: these powers are causing fundamental damage to the fabric of reality itself.

Wanting to be a title that'll add a youthful energy to the DCU and the New Age of Heroes line itself, Sideways' writer Jordan should be able to bring that in spades.

Add to this the artwork of Rocafort, which is unlike anything else in comics and promises him the chance to cut loose and go wild with it, this could be a gorgeous new title to check out.
