10 Reasons Why Kang Dynasty Is The Best Avengers Story Ever Written

9. The Threat Warrants The Avengers Assembling

The premise behind the book is that when a threat emerges that no single hero can defeat, the Avengers must assemble.

The problem with doing this every month is that there are only so many times Thanos or Ultron can show up and threaten existence. The other issue with such "epic" confrontations is they are usually universe-wide crossovers featuring more than just the Avengers.

By the time the Kang Dynasty was published, the adventures of Earth's Mightiest Heroes had become a soap opera. The fights were primarily handled by whoever was lounging around the Mansion at that moment.

No offence to the Grim Reaper, A.I.M or Taskmaster, but most of the time, readers struggle to believe that they would be much of a threat to Thor or Wonder Man, let alone the entire Avengers roster.

So when Kang arrives with an army from the future, a clone of his son, a city levelling super-weapon and a plan to rally Earth's various evil factions against the Avengers, you feel as if this truly is an "all hands-on deck" situation.
