When it comes to dating The Bat, you are basically opening yourself up to being loved and left at the earliest opportunity. Time and time again it’s been made clear the only love in Batman’s life is the love of justice and criminal pummelling.

Solidifying this is the on-off relationship with burglar extraordinaire Selina Kyle, AKA Catwoman. Even this more healthy relationship still involved one cancelled wedding and a fair share of heartbreak before we got to anything solid, whereas the Robins tend to have a much easier time on the whole with their romantic interests.

Many Robins have formed happy relationships both wearing and not wearing the mask. Dick not only successfully led a team but also had a healthy, happy relationship with second in command Starfire. Tim Drake and Stephanie Brown also hooked up and developed a deep love and supportive relationship that extended into their civilian lives (something that is still elusive to Playboy Bruce).

By no means these relationships all ended happily ever after, but its the fact that they were willing to lay it all out on the table and open their hearts to the potential of a future outside the rooftop lurking that solidifies all have a hope that one day they can hang up the boots for good.
