In terms of hand to hand contact, few can match the Dark Knight. Years of training with the League of Assassins and various other martial arts masters ensured that Bruce was capable of taking down the biggest of foes with as minimal an effort as possible.

For various Robins however, especially in the case of Damian Wayne (lovechild of an ill-fated night of passion with Talia Al-Ghul), mastery of hand to hand combat comes naturally. Trained from birth Batman has stated numerous times that Damian is the more advanced fighter, even taking down Deathstroke single-handedly.

Each Robin has flown solo at some point and what makes them all unique is the time taken to perfect their own individual fighting style and often adopt a weapon of choice. Damian and Tim favour the Bo staff while Dick in his Nightwing persona perfected the Escrima sticks.

Batman can claim to be a jack of all weapons, But it's the Robins that can claim mastery. By focusing each on their own strengths and adopting a fighting style to match, an underestimated Robin is always one the comes out on top.
