10 Reasons Why Robin Is The Hero Gotham Deserves
10. Emotional Well-being
Dressing as a bat, brooding in a cave... emotional well-being has never been the biggest strong-point for the Caped Crusader. It’s also true that with Damian and Jason not having the best time of it, they followed in their father/mentor's footsteps.
That's not the case, however, for Dick Grayson and Tim Drake. Both have a good grasp of their emotions that can be shown in their family ties, friendships, and even how they operate as Robin.
Dick understands his own potential, and in questioning Batman’s methods, moves on to develop his solo life as Nightwing. People always come first for Tim, such as trying to convince Stephanie Brown to give up her Spoiler persona for her own safety. On the other hand, Batman not only recruits Spoiler as a new Robin, but allows her to sacrifice herself to his own ends (or so everyone thinks).
By putting the cape last and focusing on the human element, Dick and Tim show that although The Bat may be well known and respected, they are the true heroes. This emotional connection has also cemented Dicks place especially as a grounded calm influence, with a connection to almost all DC Universe heroes.
