10 Reasons Why Robin Is The Hero Gotham Deserves
8. Moral Compass
The overwhelming conclusion is that due to the circumstances of the Bat becoming a vigilante and the "no killing rule" that followed, Batman has the most moral compass of them all. The truth is however, although that really does set the bar for a moral code, it’s his one and only.
Compare that with all Robins (except possibly Jason and Damian) and the gap of a real moral compass gets wider and wider.
Every decision made by Dick Grayson and Tim Drake ensures that whatever the outcome, a choice made is for the right reason.
Dick takes a job outside of his night duties to become a police officer not only to keep tabs on his new city of Bludhaven, but also to genuinely help as much as possible in other ways. Compare this to Bruce, who with his substantial fortune, simply delegates any charity duties to keep up his playboy façade.
Tim also gives up a life he loves - and all the benefits of being a Robin - to enrol at Brentwood Academy in order to respect his father’s wishes, but continues to help whenever he can in his civilian identity.
It's this ability to always make the tough choices, often without throwing a punch or intimidating whatever thug is in the vicinity, that allows the morality these birds hold dear to soar far higher than any grapple-gunning thug.
