10 Reasons Why Spider-Man Is Marvel's Greatest Superhero

5. His Storylines Are Brilliant

There's an old joke that death means something different in comic books. Hell, Spider-Man himself has died and come back, but Uncle Ben and Gwen Stacy have both died, and although Gwen still appears in alternate universe comics, their deaths have been a constant influence in Spider-Man's ongoing story.

Apart from those big deaths, Spider-Man isn't afraid to try something different. From student to photographer to tech guru, Peter Parker has evolved. He's been married, and had that marriage wiped from reality - point being, the character is constantly changing.

Whereas a lot of superheroes remain static, Spider-Man is a character that's grown and developed, without ever losing that unique spark that makes him such a compelling hero in the first place. We're not just seeing him fight villains and save the world, we're seeing a life being lived.
