10 Spider-Man Fates Worse Than Death

7. Becoming Permanently Attached To A Klyntar

Spider-Man Morlun
Marvel Comics

To be fair to the species, a Klyntar who is uncorrupted isn't such a bad companion to have attached for the rest of your life. It's the corrupted Symbiotes, such as Venom, Toxin, Carnage, and Zzzxx, who make a host's life a living nightmare whether they're aware of it or not.

Bonding with a corrupted Symbiote means a person has attached themselves to another sentient creature for the rest of their life and depending on who that Symbiote is, it can be horrific. Corrupted Symbiotes love to eat people, so it's a pretty straight line to becoming a cannibal.

Venom and Carnage had no problem gobbling down the remains of their victims, which meant that the hosts had to become cannibals along the way. For some, this isn't a concern, and for others, it becomes a problem over time. Regardless, giving oneself to a Symbiote often means losing control, which is where the real nightmare begins.

A corrupted Symbiote can take control over a host, whether they allow it or not, and they can destroy their lives in the process. They become an instant target, it can corrupt you even after you've died, and your personality will dissolve into it. Most importantly, a Symbiote feeds on the host until there's nothing left, and it's pretty much nothing but pure horror along the way.
