10 Spider-Man Sidekicks Everyone Forgets

9. Silk

Spider-Bite Spider-Man
Marvel Comics

Everyone knows the story of how Peter Parker was bitten by a radioactive spider, which gave him superpowers, but the story expanded a little bit in 2014 with the introduction of Silk. It turned out, the spider bit Cindy Moon, a classmate of Peters, though her powers were harder to control.

Because of the threat posed by Morlun, she was locked inside a tower, Rapunzel style, for years to keep her hidden. Spider-Man learned of her isolation and rescued her, at which time, he informed her of Morlun's deaths - he'd perished twice by this point.

Peter opted to help her become the superhero Silk, and for some time, they worked together in this capacity. For the most part, Silk became a solo superhero just like Peter, but there were several incidents, which brought them together for a superhero/sidekick sort of relationship.

In one, Silk saved Spider-Man fro being unmasked on live television by Black Cat, and in another, she tagged along on a mission to thwart some bad guys, and handle Electro.

Since her introduction in 2014's Amazing Spider-Man #1, Silk has been on numerous missions with her mentor/former classmate, and their relationship is likely to continue in this manner for the foreseeable future.
