10 Strangest Comic Book Doomsday Devices Of All Time
9. Warworld
DC is no stranger to creating worlds that are themselves weapons of mass destruction. From the iconic homeworlds of Krypton and Apokolips to the green lantern Mogo, DC is full of planets that can invoke dread or hope at the sight of them.
However Warworld is one of the most unique planets because it is not just a floating piece of rock where bad guys inhabit, it actually is a mobile weapons platform in the hands of a maniacal alien tyrant known as Mongul.
Warworld is a weapon of pure destruction, virtually indestructible and capable of disintegrating entire solar systems with any of its futuristic weapons.
Warworld has an interesting history behind it too. When it was originally constructed it had to be used psychically by its creators. The strain of trying to use it drained everyone on the planet of their life-force, meaning the people who built Warworld never actually used it.
The planet has gone through several owners and iterations, from joining the Sinestro Corps to at one point being rebuilt on Pluto, which is arguably the only cool thing Pluto has ever been used for. It is still a strange thought to look up at the stars and wonder if any of them are inhabited by beings who might be building a giant planetary killer that will come to try and blow us up.
