Yeah, this is the big one. This is the story that essentially broke the concept of death and rebirth within the comic book work. This is the Death and Return of Superman. This is the big one, and the one that impacted everything on this list. Superman, the Man of Steel, and the unbeatable saviour of Earth, met his end at the hands of Doomsday. Dont worry, Superman killed him right back. Superman died in the arms of Lois Lane, and the world mourned the death of their one, true hero. (This story actually made headlines in the media, at the time). Superman died, and no one could bring him back. Four other poser Supermen took his place: Steel, Metropolis Kid, Cyborg Superman and the Last Son of Krypton. Cyborg Superman would eventually become the main villain as other three were essentially pushed to the background, and guess who came back after all the destruction and mayhem that Cyborg Superman wrought? Thats right. Superman. Superman, who was dead for a very long time, came back and saved the day, rocking a silly mullet. And that was basically the end of that. Superman was back, cheating death, saving the day and whatnot, shrugging off death like it wasn't even a thing. It was bad. And comics have never been the same since.
