10 Superheroes Who Are Too Arrogant For Their Own Good

4. Booster Gold

Michael Jon Carter€™s life was not going as he expected. Living in the 25th century, he was a star college quarterback until he was busted for purposefully losing games to earn money. He was able to get a job as a security guard in a museum, where he saw displays of the superheroes and supervillains of the past. Determined to make a name for himself, he stole Rip Hunter€™s time machine, along with several artifacts from the museum like a flight ring, power suit and the security robot Skeets, and traveled back to the 20th/21st century to become a superhero. Here€™s the thing: Booster Gold isn€™t doing this out of the goodness of his heart or to be a better person. He€™s doing it for the fame and fortune. He uses his knowledge of the future to stage himself in heroic situations to improve his image. Afterwards, he snags some corporate sponsors and signs commercial and movie deals to take his stardom to the next level. As the years have passed, Booster has matured and learned what it truly means to be a hero (although the New 52 has set him slightly back on that front), but he€™s still primarily known for his previous glory-seeking reputation.
