When a virus killed most of his people, Nolan ventured to Earth and became the world's greatest superhero, Omni-Man. He settled down, got married and had Mark.
When Mark reached puberty, he developed superpowers just like his old man. After he took on the moniker Invincible, Mark officially became a superhero, and Omni-Man's sidekick.
Mark seems to have superstrength similar to Superman but what makes him stand out is his phenomenal healing abilities and his willingness to fight after sustaining the most gruelling injuries. While fighting supervillains, he has had his bones shattered, skull fractured, and has his organs ripped out.
