7. Gladiator
The Shi’ar are a galactic empire that is usually at war with other cosmic factions. Although the Shi'ar is composed of hundreds of great warriors, their crowning champion has to be the leader of The Imperial Guard, Gladiator.
Despite having purple skin and a Mohawk, Gladiator is clearly based on Superman. Not only does he have the same powers, but his costume has the same colours – red, blue and yellow.
Also, Gladiator’s real name is Kallark. His name is an amalgamation of Superman’s Earth name, Clark, and his Kryptonian name, Kal-El.
Gladiator's strength is legendary throughout the cosmos. He is so absurdly powerful, he defeated Thanos with a single punch. In Mighty Thor #19, he proved his strength by drinking beer made of anti-matter.
But he isn't just really, really strong. Gladiator's power is tied directly to his self-belief. If he thinks he can win a fight, he will. Ironically, Gladiator is more likely to win a fight if he is ignorant about his opponent's capabilities.
In the X-Men cartoon, he managed to stop Juggernaut in his tracks. This should be impossible since Juggernaut is unstoppable, but Gladiator was able to stop him dead simply because he believed he could.
