7. Otto Octavius And Aunt May

"But they aren't superheroes!" I hear you scream at your screen. Well, that's where you're wrong... Sort of.

Otto may have his roots in evil, but his recent spell as the Superior Spider-Man has certainly earned him enough credit to be accepted as a hero.

As for Aunt May, she has had powers on quite a few occasions, most hilariously in 1984 when she became the "Golden Oldie". During a team up between Aunt May and Reed Richards (yes, that's actually a thing), Galactus imbues her with cosmic power so she could bake planet sized cakes for the hungry titan.

Now, the fact these two got together in the first place is enough to make fans squirm, but for them to get married? That was a step too far for some. Thankfully, after even Spider-Man couldn't stop them from tying the knot, Marvel realised what a horrible thing they had done.

Since May broke things off due to Otto's anger management issues, the union has been rightly swept under the rug. May has gone on to marry J. Jonah Jameson's father and is much happier these days. However, Chip Zdarsky couldn't resist giving us an unwelcome reminder during Spider-Man: Life Story.
