No you are not misreading it, and any hallucinatory drugs you may or may not be on right now have not affected this portion of your sight. Archie and Marvel comics got together in the nineties to make a crossover between Archie's eponymous character... and The Punisher.

I would be confused/angry about this, but honestly I kinda wish comic companies did this kind of "for the hell of it" cross promotion more often. Especially if they're as amusing as this.

The setup is classic misunderstanding: The Punisher is chasing a criminal, who just so happens to look a lot like Archie. So of course, the guy hides out in Riverdale, and our violent anti-hero mistakes Archie comics' famous put upon teenager for the criminal he's chasing. It's completely low stakes, and just an excuse for a 22 page long joke about just how these two worlds do not fit together AT ALL.

And you know what? That is totally okay by us, as the comic is genuinely funny. It does about everything you can with this tried and true setup, and then ends without a fuss. It's the kind of cross promotion NO ONE in their right mind saw coming, but honestly? We should be happy it exists.
