10 Terrible Mistakes That Almost Ruined The Avengers For Everyone

6. Cancelling Earth's Mightiest Heroes

Having let DC be top dog of animated adaptations of their properties for the longest time, Marvel seemed to finally put together a serious contender to the throne (mixed metaphors - contender to the doghouse, or summat) in the form of Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes. Pitched as the sort of unfettered, unpretentious kid-friendly fun of Batman: The Brave And The Bold mixed with the continuity-savvy adventures of the Justice League show - and with some Bruce Timm-style designs on show too - Earth's Mightiest Heroes was possibly the most critically acclaimed Marvel adaptation. At least until the movie came along and ruined that, in more ways than one. Y'see, Earth's Mightiest Heroes had an interesting and diverse cast (including Iron Man, Wasp, Captain America, Black Panther and Ms Marvel), some top-notch voice acting and intelligent writing courtesy of a bunch of comic book veterans. Unfortunately the roster and visual style were a little too far away from the super successful Avengers film, which meant that the series was dropped in favour of the far more conventional Avengers Assemble after just two seasons. Fans got up in arms about it, but it looks like we're stuck with Assemble for now - and it's doing pretty well, so, nyeh. What do we know.
