10 Terrifying Comic Supervillains (Who Only Appear Once)

9. Snowflame

Batman Thomas Martha Wayne Flashpoint
DC Comics

Although his only appearance was in the 1980s, Snowflame seems to be a villain tailor-made for the 1970s. He faced off against the superhero group The New Guardians in a single issue. In this issue, Snowflame was introduced as the head of a Columbian drug cartel.

Like Tony Montana, Snowflame gained his powers with a huge amount of cocaine. He snorted it, to be clear.

Snowflame's abilities included superhuman strength, speed, and immunity to pain. Additionally, when he touched you, you received a literal contact high.

Snowflame sounds great at a party, but he wasn't right for the pages of The New Guardians. Especially when you consider the target audience of many of these comics is children.

Telling kids that snorting coke will turn you into a superhuman badass with literal white flames engulfing your body is probably not the best message. Snowflame’s creators must have agreed as they killed him off after only a single issue.
