10 Terrifying Comics About Real Life Crimes
1. Black Dahlia By Rick Geary
Geary's final addition to this list covers yet another unsolved American mystery. One that should be familiar to fans of the MCU; as MJ's favourite flower is the Black Dahlia (BECAUSE OF THE MURDERS).
The Black Dahlia mystery is one as theorised and speculated upon as The Zodiac and Jack The Ripper.
All that is known is that Elizabeth Short was an aspiring actress working in a drug store in Los Angeles and that she had been dropped off at a hotel by her boyfriend the night of her disappearance in 1947.
A few days later, her body was found in a park, mutilated and bisected at the waist. Short was posthumously named The Black Dahlia, as it was a nickname she apparently received at her work.
Over the past half a century, a hundred and fifty suspects have been looked into, all to no avail.
Geary's comic adaptation of the story gives you all the information that can be found on the case, but like all of the very best examples of true crime on cold cases, the conclusions are limitless.
