Most serial killers become famous because of their Modus Operandi (or M.O for short). The way in which they kill their victims becomes their character as that is all the Police know about them. For example, Jack The Ripper essentially ripped up his victims, and Peter Sutcliffe murdered solely in Yorkshire, hence why he was named the Yorkshire Ripper.

No other killer was named quite as bluntly as the Torso Murderer, who left nothing of this victims but - you guessed it - their torso. This made it very difficult for any of these victims to be identified.

The Torso Murderer stalked the streets of Cleveland in the United States, which is the home town of the graphic novel's author, Brian Michael Bendis. A name that will be very familiar with comic book fans as the man who created Miles Morales and is currently working for DC on several projects.

This six issue run tells the bone chilling tale of the Torso Killer throughout the 1930s as he kills his twelve victims and is hunted down by the famous Elliot Ness - the leader of The Untouchables who took on Al Capone years before.
