Just to prove to you that Rick Geary is a significant player in the True Crime comics game, here's another one of his repertoire that shows a terrifying real world story of criminals at large.

When you think of New Orleans, you often think of the jazz scene or maybe the sea food cuisine, but not many would think of a notorious Axe wielding maniac.

Just after the First World War, America was beginning to recover from what was only a year's worth of fighting that still however took its toll on the people. Then they had to contend with a brutal serial killer.

This killer chopped his victims to bits with his axe and other than the fact that his victims were all Italian, nothing else is known about this mysterious murderer. Of course, given the ethnicity of the victims, it has been suggested that the killer had xenophobic motives.

However, given that this was around the start of the Social Darwinism and Eugenics movements, this doesn't really narrow it down.

All the creepy and intriguing tales of this killer can be found in the pages of one of Rick Geary's finest books.
