10 Things DC Comics Wants You To Forget About Green Lantern

8. He Once Punched Batman In The Face

One thing that isn't common knowledge is that Batman and Green Lantern don't tend to get along. In fact, he doesn't get along with a lot of them, which makes sense considering he's the literal embodiment of fear for many.

While you would think most writers wouldn't dare have another hero punch Batman, Geoff Johns did just that in Green Lantern: Rebirth. Chronicling the return of Hal Jordan after his death, Bats is reluctant to embrace the OG Lantern on account of the circumstances that surrounded his original demise. The rational reaction? Hal socks Bruce in the jaw, knocking him to the ground and cementing a superhero power play quite literally no one was asking for.

As far as returns do go, Hal's felt kind of pointless, and his punch felt pretty juvenile at the time too. The Bat-Lantern feud is typically overblown as well, but whatever, he's back now, and has been for a while.

Would be nice if someone could return the favour, though...
