Funnily enough, later on - in the same comic - Batman punches Hal in the face, knocking him to the floor so that they can move on with the knowledge that they've both managed to get the upper hand on the other.

This wasn't the only occasion where Bruce smacked a Lantern though. Earlier, back when Guy Gardner was Earth's main Lantern, he had a bit of a feud with the Dark Knight. Undermined at every opportunity by Bats, who was the then leader of Justice League International, Guy ending up challenging Bats to a fight without his ring. Not sensing that this was - y'know - a terrible idea, Guy entered the ring and was flattened with one punch, a fact Blue Beetle crows over the unconscious Gardner happily.

Guy has since turned into more than just the 'angry' Lantern, and is actually one of the more interesting Corps members out there. That said, there's no getting away from the fact that having your heroes fight over petty disputes seems more than a bit juvenile.

Tension is a good thing, but when it boils over like this, no one emerges for the better...
