Nick Fury is about as far away from being the quintessential Brit as it is possible to be and you really don't associate him with the European island at all when you think about him. However, the super-spy actually has very strong connections to Great Britain. His Howling Commandos were made honorary commandos in the British Army, after having helped them considerably during the battles of World War II. He has also spent a significant amount of time working with agents of the British MI-5 agency on secret missions and espionage cases and, most prominently, he actually fell in love with a British noblewoman called Lady Pamela Hawley, who was serving in a London ambulance unit during World War II. Hell's Kitchen is a far cry from the supposed sophistication of Great Britain, but Nick Fury is as comfortable watching newsreels with a British audience as he his beating up a streetwise thug in a boxing ring in New York.
