During the events of the Infinite Crisis, The Riddler was knocked unconscious by a blow to the head, putting him into a coma for nearly a year. Upon awakening he had lost some of his memory, and had seemingly turned his back on crime. While he was on the right side of the law he was hired as a private consultant in this role he proved that a photograph allegedly implicating Bruce Wayne in a murder was actually an imposter attempting to frame the billionaire. In order to end the speculation that Bruce Wayne was involved in such a sinister act, Batman and The Riddler teamed up this unlikely duo successfully found the true culprit, clearing the Caped Crusaders alter ego. This change in Edward Nigmas philosophy didnt last long though. Finding that the cases were not complex enough for his brain, he gave up on the endeavour and decided to go back to perpetrating crimes rather than solving them.
