10 Things Everyone Always Forgets About Harley Quinn

8. Harley And Ivy

Harley Quinn’s relationship with the Joker is often one of obsession and abuse, with any feelings of love being purely on Harley’s side alone. But her relationship with Poison Ivy has, over time, become one of genuine love of a variety of kinds. Harls refers to Ivy as “Red” of “Pammy” as her terms of endearment. Depending on which creative staff is in charge determined what shape their relationship takes.

Ivy wanted to save Harley. She despised the Joker and wanted to get Quinn out of the abusive relationship she was in. This was part of the reason that Pamela gave her the concoction that made her immune to poisons and increased her strength and speed. Isley also felt completely comfortable being the Princess of Punch’s voice of reason, telling her the hard truths that she needed to hear.

In issue # 24 of the Gotham City Sirens, Harley suggested that Poison Ivy was in love with her. This revelation shocked Pam but she began to come to terms with that idea. A relationship was hinted at throughout the Harley Quinn New 52 Series, and creators Amanda Connor and Jimmy Palmiotti confirmed that the pair were in a non-monogamous relationship. It wasn’t until the 25th issue of her second series that Harls and "Red" shared their first in-canon kiss.
