10 Things Everyone Always Forgets About Harley Quinn

9. Obscure Appearances

In addition to several appearances in blockbuster films and the hilariously foul-mouthed animated series that has just started its third season on HBO Max, the character of Harley Quinn has appeared in a number of places since her introduction in Batman: The Animated Series. Sometimes she was identified, sometimes not, but the "Harley-ness" always shined through.

Harley Quinn was the main antagonist in the short-lived 2002 Birds of Prey series that ran on the WB. Played by Mia Sara, the character spent much of her time as New Gotham Dr. Harleen Quinzel, psychiatrist to Helena Wayne, secretly the Huntress. Wayne was court-ordered to see the doctor for anger management issues. Through her, the not-so-good doctor learned all the Birds of Prey’s secrets and plotted against them. She lamented the absence of the Joker and only appeared in costume in the final episode.

Harley was seen only from the back in the Arrow episode “Suicide Squad.” Voiced by prolific voiceover actress Tara Strong, Harls is an ARGUS prisoner who asks to be taken along on a mission - a request that John Diggle absolutely refuses. She also appeared in animation again in Batman: The Brave and the Bold. In the episode "Emperor Joker", she was dressed as a 1920s flapper and has a brief infatuation with Bat-Mite.
