10 Things Everyone Always Gets Wrong About Robin

7. Dick Grayson Was The First Robin

This is just weird. When Robin debuted, we already knew Batman's basic origin story and how he became Batman, so no one expected that in 1955, Detective Comics #226, would change the continuity behind it for good.

For you see, Dick Grayson was not the first person to wear Robin's green undies. Bruce Wayne, age 12, created the costumed identity of Robin to be able to partner with the famous detective Harvey Harris without him learning his identity.

Interesting enough, this was not just a throwaway story, Bruce Wayne starting his career out as Robin actually stuck with the character, being revisited in 1980 by Len Wein's The Untold Legend of the Batman. It wasn't until Crisis on Infinite Earths that all trace of Wayne's colorful start to crime-fighting were erased from existence.
