10 Things Everyone Always Gets Wrong About The Avengers

Thanks to the MCU, and the bang-up job Samuel L. Jackson has done, everyone knows that Nick Fury is the Machiavellian mastermind behind the Avengers Initiative. The one-eyed wizard not only put the team together, but he's always in the background pulling the strings. Yet, in the comics, Nick Fury has little, to sod all, to do with the team.

As previously mentioned, if anyone can be seen as responsible for their existence, it's Loki, but thanks to movie magic a lot of people are convinced it's all on ol' Nick's shoulders. The truth, on the other hand, is far different.

Nick Fury is far too busy with S.H.I.E.L.D. to be wasting time trying to corral a bunch of super-heroes into doing what he wants. After all, all that super spying won't do itself.

And even though the two organizations do, for the most part, get along just fine, with the Avengers being more than happy to lend a hand whenever it's needed, there is no denying that they are two completely separate entities and should be seen as such.
