Having been the leader of three different teams of the Teen Titans and Titans, two versions of the Justice League, and the Outsiders, Dick Grayson has earned the respect of a large number of heroes. He makes a concerted effort to stay in contact with members of the superhero community, making him uniquely skilled at bringing them together in times of crisis; a skill that even Batman doesn’t possess.

As a leader from a very young age, Nightwing has developed leadership, team building, and dynamics skills that are second to none. The hero community just naturally looks to him to lead them. Recently when the Justice League was believed murdered by Pariah, it was Grayson who gave a speech to inspire the heroes that attended the vigil at the Hall of Justice.

One shining example of how highly regarded he is, happened in Nightwing #83. After a bad encounter with Blockbuster, Dick spoke to various people who worked to help those from “outside the system.” Grayson catches up to Superman on a Metropolis rooftop, and after they talk, the Man of Steel asks for a favor. He knew that his upcoming mission in space might keep him away for a while and he wanted Dick to mentor his son Jon Kent, the new Superman. Grayson agrees although is not sure what he can do, and Clark says that he can think of no better role model than Dick Grayson.
