10 Things Everyone Forgets About Nightwing
7. Identities? He’s Had A Few
In addition to Robin and Nightwing, Dick Grayson has taken on a number of temporary identities over the years. Chief among these is when he assumed the identity of Batman. The first time was following the events of Zero Hour where Bruce Wayne went on a journey to relearn what it means to him to be Batman. Grayson took over as the Caped Crusader with Tim Drake as his Robin. The second lengthy time for Dick under the cape 'n' cowl was when Bruce was believed killed by Darkseid at the end of Final Crisis. There, Grayson took up the Bat-mantle with Damian Wayne as his Robin.
After Nightwing was unmasked on National Television by Superwoman and Earth-3’s Crime Syndicate, Dick Grayson was forced to fake his death and go into hiding. He took on a special mission for Batman to investigate the clandestine organization Spyral from the inside. To do so, he became Agent 37.
Dick also briefly became a Talon within the Court of Owls to bring the organization down. The Parliament is a centuries-old organization that has run in secret in Gotham City, wielding political influence through murder and architecture. Their assassins are called Talons.
Grayson also briefly took on the identity of Renegade when he infiltrated Deathstroke’s organization and taught his daughter Ravager martial arts. After being shot in the head by the KGBeast, Dick suffered amnesia and briefly went under the name of Ric Grayson.
