10 Things Marvel Wants You To Forget About Wolverine
2. That Time He Lost His Nose
The nineties were a bad time for many in the comics industry, but nobody suffered more than the readers. The era saw a flood of bad, poorly-proportioned artwork, hackneyed ideas, and endless crossovers that make todays annual summer events look like Maus. In fact, the only person who was worse off than the people reading his escapades during the nineties was Wolverine, whose character was almost totally decimated by the events of an epic X-Men event called Fatal Attractions, which saw the return of Magneto as a major villain. During a clash on the battlefield the master of magnetism used his powers to tear the adamantium from Logans skeleton, almost killing him and returning him to the bloodthirsty, feral state hed been in during his initial escape from Weapon X. He changed his costume (it was terrible), his claws went from sleek metal blades to brittle bones (kind of cool) and, for reasons unknown, he lost his nose. Presumably he had a nose before getting the metal bonded to his skeleton, and yet, Wolverine spent a good few years without a hooter at all. Doesnt tend to get brought up a lot, for some reason.
