The Death Of Wolverine was met with a less-than-rapturous reception from comic book fans, despite the usually dependable creative team of Charles Soule and Steve McNiven on board. Sure, nobody in comics ever stays dead - a rule that seems to apply doubly to the X-Men, with resurrection apparently being a power every mutant possesses - but Wolverine has especially shown himself to be resilient against death, even sans healing factor. Logan has bitten the bullet so many times that a particularly bonkers storyline from a few years ago saw him literally doing battle with the Grim Reaper for his immortal soul, a fight which apparently happens fairly regularly, from the familiarity the two combatants share. Of course Logan knows Death. Theyre probably drinking buddies. The series was supposed to be a huge event, with Marvel expecting readers to be shocked at the demise of one of their biggest characters. He wont be dead for long. Hes too big a draw, hes come back from worse before, and hes the best there is at what he does. You aint fooling nobody, bub.
