Hardcore fans of the Fantastic Four know all about the infamous and unfinished Roger Corman Fantastic Four movie. It's one of those movies that's impossible to hate despite everyone agreeing that it is terrible, because it just has this shoe string budget charm to it that makes it amazing to riff on with friends.

However, while the behind the scenes tidbit about this movie being nowhere close to being finished is common enough knowledge, what's a bit more obscure is the reason WHY it was so rushed and put together so slapdash. Turns out, they only made this thing to retain the movie rights to the Fantastic Four IP.

Now granted, this isn't COMPLETELY obscure knowledge, as there was a documentary made about this film called Doomed! The Untold Story Of Roger Corman's The Fantastic Four that details everything about this infamous production. However, Marvel Studios would likely very much prefer its loyal fanbase forget about this incredibly legally shady business move to hold onto a property they weren't doing much with to begin with.
