10 Things Marvel Wants You To Forget About The Punisher
6. Archie Meets The Punisher
Comic book crossovers are few and far between these days, at least between publishers. Back in the nineties, however, they were all the rage, and one of the most famous involved everyone's favourite Punisher meeting up with everyone's favourite comic book teen, Archie Andrews.
Written by Batton Lash and drawn by the late, great John Buscema and Stan Goldberg, the book involves Castle heading to Riverdale to track down a notorious drug kingpin, known only as 'Red'. Soon enough, Archie gets caught up in a criminal conspiracy and, fitting the description of Castle's target, soon finds himself in a pretty unfortunate case of mistaken identity.
The book's a fun enough read, but as far as crossovers go this is one of the strangest in Marvel's library. It ends with Frank heading to Gotham City (presumably to kill the Joker), but at least the Archie book has the fun factor to go with it.
