3. He Once Had To Wear A 'Thing-Suit'

In one of the character's stranger moments, Ben Grimm unexpectedly reverted back to human form which, as you would've probably guessed already, placed his superhero status in jeopardy.
Reed, not wanting Ben to feel left out, presumably, began to fashion a 'Thing-Suit' for him to wear - one that bore all the features of the character's original rock-like exterior. Luke Cage took his spot on the team until it was completed, but when it was, Ben fought crime just like the rest of the team, chomping on cigars and shouting catchphrases like there was no tomorrow.
The idea of a 'Thing-Suit' never really caught on though, leading Marvel's writers to bring the old Ben back out of the blue. It was probably for the best, given the significance of the character's physical change, and the suit is yet to be dusted off since.
